The educational use of computer games is not unexplored research territory, but research is disjointed and the field lacks well-defined boundaries. Research has been distributed over a number of disciplines with little in common except perhaps the interest in computer games. Some of these are literature, psychol- ogy, media studies, anthropology, ethnography, sociology, history, business stud- ies, military tactics, literary theory, educational, theory, instructional technology and computer games studies.
