Participants in the current study were not blind to the administration of the
stimulant medication. Yet, it is important to note that this study was not set-up in an
attempt to demonstrate the positive therapeutic effects of methylphenidate as there
is abundant evidence showing that this is the case (Spencer et al., 2000). Rather
this clinical study was an attempt to examine the practical value of a brief rating
scale for assessing symptoms of ADHD. Altogether, the results seem to indicate
that the ADHD-Q is indeed useful during the process of evaluating responsivity
to stimulant medication in children with ADHD.
