Various parameters like change in height (cm), chlorophyll content (mg/100mg fresh wt.) were analyzed in the standing plant. Chlorophyll content was estimated using Arnon’s method (1949). After plant harvest, roots and shoots were weighted separately for their fresh weight (g), for dry weight (g) analysis, oven dried at 70 °C until a constant weight was obtained to determine the dry weight (g). Percentage mycorrhizal root colonization was studied by Phillips and Hayman (1970) method. While, AM spore quantification was determined by Gerdemann and Nicolson (1963) method. Phosphorous content of shoot and root was determined by vanadomolybdate phosphoric yellow colour method (Jackson, 1973). Total nitrogen was calculated by Kjeldahl method (Kelplus nitrogen estimation system, supra-LX). Analysis of Sodium, Nitrogen and Potassium was done byinductively coupled plasma analyzer-Mass spectrometry(ICP-MS).
