Ironically for Thailand, many flood-prone areas are subject to droughts in the dry season, especially in areas where there are no watercourses or where dams and reservoirs are not possible. Even the delay of the annual rain causes tremendous economic losses, as was the case this year. But when water from the sky is scarce or insufficient, thankfully we have the artificial rain as a temporary relief measure. His Majesty’s Royal or Artificial Rain Project, since 1996, has alleviated the country’s drought problems making agriculture possible and raising water levels in dams. The rain-making techniques---innovative and practical, is part of the well-designed process of atmospheric water resource development system devised by His Majesty.
