The morphology of the microcapsules was observed under a scanning
electron microscope (SEM — Jeol JMS — T300, Tokyo, Japan) at an
accelerating voltage of 20 kV. The samples were fixed in stubs doublesided
copper tape and coated with a thin gold layer (180 s and a current

of 40 mA) using a Baltzer evaporator (Baltec SCD50, Liechtenstein,
Austria).
