JJ Green comprises a mix of permanently built shops and bars, whilst local peddlers lay-out their merchandise on makeshift stalls or just spread it over the floor in the large car park at the back. Anybody who enjoys Chatuchak Market’s vintage zone will be right at home here; many of the shops specialize in cheap, secondhand clothes and there’s lots of stalls selling genuine retro items such as vinyl CDs, old car models, artwork, antiques and collectables.
Head further into the car park at the back to find more of a car-boot sale kind of scene, with open vans and cars displaying everything from vintage watches, retro cameras and phones, worn advertising and branded posters, musical instruments and biker-gear. As with any Thai night market, bargaining down the price a little bit is acceptable, although prices here seem to be pretty cheap to start with, so don’t expect much off.
