This impeller type provides the significant advantage of unrelieved
high specific power input even at higher gas loads.Different impeller diameters (D = 75 mm and D = 105 mm)
were investigated. Further, various baffles were investigated; the
reactor equipment characteristics are compiled in Table 1. Experiments
in model media showed,thatfour baffles are performing best
with respectto mixing and oxygen dispersion. A higher baffle number
would interrupt the mixing of the liquid and therefore increase
the mixing time. . Half pipe baffles (C-shape) were
mounted in such a way that the flow induced by the impellers hit
the baffles on their concave side.
