Vision-based interactive interface (VBI) is an interactive approach to computers without physical controllers. A VBI system uses computer vision technology to sense and interpret users’ actions to meet with context. The computer analyses user’s motion data that are captured by camera, and generates real-time interactive feedback to users. People can operate the system via the interactive interface through hand gestures and/or body movements. Unlike physical controllers such as a mouse or a keyboard (which are referred to as traditional interactive interfaces, or TI), a vision-based interactive interface prevents injury caused by bad posture. If well designed, a vision-based interactive game would achieve the desired effects of exercise rehabilitation, physical sensitivity, and controlled accuracy.
