Direct Aid Program (DAP) – New Delhi
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) provides small grants for activities that support development and strengthen communities in India and Bhutan. It also builds linkages and fosters relationships between Australia and these communities.
The Australian High Commission in New Delhi supports small-scale, sustainable development projects in north India and Bhutan, with grants typically up to 10 lakh INR or BTN equivalent. The Australian Consulate-Generals in Mumbai and Chennai are responsible for the DAP programs in central and south India.
Over the past decade, the Australian Government’s Direct Aid Program has funded over 250 projects in India and Bhutan, distributing over Rs 11 crore to support small-scale sustainable development projects.
