The influence of pH on the germination of C.sporogenes spores. Spores of C. sporogenes TISTR1452 and C. sporogenes ATCC7955 was induced to germinate with a solution of the amino acid L-alanine or L-serine at a concentration of 100.mM adjusted to various pHs. Spore germination was measured by monitoring the reduction of the absorbance at 600 nm for 30 minutes (black bars) and 60 minutes (white bars). The results are an average of at least three replications.
