The findings of this research build upon the field’s understanding of each of the variables. This Study supports researchers moving forward using Coombs and Holladay’s clusters with increased confidence. Furthermore, simply by isolating the clusters outside of the situational crisis communication Theory framework, confirming their own strength independently, and refolding them back into situational crisis communication Theory, it strongly contributes to building upon Situational crisis communication theory and by extension the sub-discipline of crisis public relations as a theoretical whole. Finally, the power of the clusters retrospectively strengthens past research using them as well.
