Aerial parts of investigated medicinal plants were collected at
the full flowering stage in August 2009 from two different locations
in Lebanon: M. myrtifolia in Zahleh (Beqaa) and C. origanifolia
in Qanat Bakish (Mont-Liban). Voucher specimens (n. 1500 and
n.1700, respectively) were authenticated botanically by one of us
(Dr Antoine M. Saab, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences
II, Lebanese University) and were deposited in the botany Herbarium
at Lebanese university
