Obligation to reporting changes in your situation
Au Pairs must report changes which can affect their right to reside in The Netherlands on the basis of the Au Pair program, such as moving to live with another host family, changing of the purpose of stay in The Netherlands for instance when you stop participating in the Au Pair program and become a student at a Dutch university instead, pre-mature departure back home etc. The agency must be informed within 24 hours after the change has taken place. The agency will then notify the Immigration and Naturalisation Service about the change. Please note that if the Immigration and Naturalisation Service is not being informed as required, this might have negative consequences for the stay of an Au Pair in The Netherlands (like withdrawal of residence permit, fines etc.).
In principle, your residence permit remains valid if you transfer to another host family or organisation. If you no longer fulfil the conditions to reside as an exchange candidate, you will have to leave The Netherlands unless you have other legal grounds to reside in the country.
