Yongduam Rock : Also known as Dragon Head Rock is located on the beautiful coast about 10 minutes from the islands capital: Jeju City. Wind and water have helped shape this now famous landmark, but the legends of how it came to be are much more interesting.
One legend says that a dragon stole an elixir of immortality from the God of Mt. Hallasan but was struck down by the God’s arrow. It crashed into the sea and turned to stone with only it’s head left peaking out of the water. This makes wind and water seem much more boring.
This area is definitely a tourist hot spot with loads of visitors making their way down the steep steps to get a better view of the popular rock. The coastline is jagged and spectacular; climbing around on the rocks is a tad scary (especially with sandals) but also a lot of fun and it can offer you some unique views of the coast line.
