The problem is that many American companies
assume that Kaizen applies onty to lean manufacturing—
just as some assume that ISO 9000 is
for quality only, and belongs solely in the quality
department. Typically, management decides that
lean techniques would be good for the company's
bottom line, and decides to implement them.
Whoever introduces the company to lean is
charged with implementing Kaizen.
