According to the evaluation of percentage of free
radical-scavenging activity of five different extracts from
3 plants in Urticaceae family, the butanol and ethyl acetate
extracts of Urtica dio ica and the diethyl ether extract of
Pilea microphylla were found to have a higher antioxidant
activity than other extracts. Based on the EC50 value, the
ethyl acetate extract of Urtica dioica showed the best
activity.
