The sun is just rising over the hill behind the camp. It's going to be a sunny day. That's good. Fighting in the wet,on a slippery, muddy field, can be very dangerous. Istoke up the camp-fire and make a cup of tea. The public won't be arriving for hours yet so I can drink tea. When the public do arrive I can only eat and drink what real Vikings would have eaten and drunk. This is very important. We try to be as authentic as possible. There was no tea drunk in English until the 1600s. Vigdis would have had water or goat's milk with her breakfast. Me, I have tea and some 20th century cornflakes.
