“Ren! Ren! Wake up Ren!” I woke up and found Mrs. Stanley. Mrs. Stanley was a widow with no child. Her husband died in an accident. I couldn’t live with my mother and so couldn’t she. Teacher was the one who asked Mrs. Stanley to take me in.
“Do you forget what day is it? Don’t you want to visit your teacher?” Oh right!
I arrived at teacher’s room. Teacher was sleeping it was the second time I saw teacher lying on that bed. The difference was teacher wasn’t in bandage now.
“Ren?”
“Teacher...”
“Oh... don’t look at me like that. I’m still pretty, ain’t?”
“I’m really sorry that you protected me at that time. Your head must be hit really badly. I’ll ask the doctor to check it out again.
“Hahaha... you actually can tell joke now. You’re not? Ren... it was a long time a go! It’s two years ago. And my head is absolutely fine!”
“Teacher will do the surgery today?”
“Well, there was some check up first. It’s alright, I’ll be fine.”
One by one, the other students came with their parents.
“We are sorry to come late. We overslept!”
“Why didn’t we make one thousand crane papers?”
“There was no time anymore.”
“We are sorry....”
“Okay, that’s it! You guys only make teacher anxious! Behave!”
“Hahaha... Ren, you’re sounded like their big brother!”
“Miracle! Miracle!” Nurses ran to us.”
“Children, the family and everyone... The cancer is gone!”
“What?” Everyone yelled in unison.
“It was still there last night but just now...”
“Is there something wrong with your device?”
“No, there isn’t. And we have checked it over and over again!”
I dropped to the floor. I was too happy. It was really a miracle. Thanks God! Thank you for not taking my teacher, our teacher!
