QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH METHODS
In the United States, training of academic psychologists includes education in quantitative research methods. The strengths and procedures of quantitative approaches and the hypothetico-deductive method are widely covered (e.g., Rosenthal & Rosnow, 1991), and therefore, we will not address them here. Rather, we will offer suggestions for conducting quantitative research with Latino gay men and then address the contributions that qualitative methods can offer with this group.
