It is universally admitted by trinitarians (e.g. consult any Bible dictionary or systematic theology) that the word “trinity” does not exist in the Bible. In any case, “trinity” is not a name of God but a descriptive term for a non-existent tripartite God (non-existent, that is, in terms of being absent in Scripture). The tripartite aspect of the doctrine has given rise to the situation in which some Christians pray to the Father, others pray to Jesus, and yet others, especially those from charismatic circles, pray to the Spirit.
