Gus wrote in and said hey guys do you believe in murphy's law murphy's law is
kind of an epigram and traditionally the way it goes is anything that can go
wrong will go wrong I don't think I believe in Murphy's Law louis i mean i
think that i believe more in terms of odds and probability right and there's no question that many of the things that can go wrong in life do go wrong but I don't fall into this I i find it relatively pessimistic in a sense that
everything that can go wrong will go wrong I would say perhaps not to one individual in whatever whatever the
setting is but and generally speaking across the globe for people who were or let's say musicians okay if I'm playing a show you know if you're playing a show you may never break a drumhead in the middle of a show that may never happen to you your entire career but it's happening two drummers all over the world and so when we talk about Murphy's Law are we just talking about what's going to happen to you and in your in your in whatever you're doing are we talking about you know a collective well thats i'm thinking more about the
collective in so I i think we could easily if we were to try to prove this
false by example right we could say well its of course possible that a a bald eagle would snatch a she you know a baby lamb fly around with it and drop it right into the turbine of an airplane specifically a 747 as it's on its final approach to land making the plane crash and slide into the plane of a major league baseball team that was about to take off subsequently killing the heir to the entire team that's never happened and there's a very good chance Lewis that that is never going to happen and wouldn't that violate Murphy's Law well i'm not sure i guess it depends on how you interpret it that is pretty
specific that's why I have an issue with these epigrams which is how are we
defining any things that can go wrong yes I suppose anything that could go wrong uh within reason that is rational and that is rational to expect but that's
such a subjective barometer
it is it is and so that's why I were struggling with this but there's there's something to murphy's law and I you know I don't think it's a bad thing to think about it to keep in your mind if you are you know in terms of preparation for whatever you're going to be doing or whatever you
need to do apply it to this show right what are the different reasons that this show could be prevented from being on air one day it happened that our internet connection doesn't work it's happened that as a result of a storm we can't get to the studio there have been a lot of reasons why the show has been delayed right but there have been infinitely more reasons that the show could be delayed that had never happened the building burns down the building explodes due to terrorist attack one of us is killed on the way to the studio I mean you know we can come up with all these things and of course it's incredibly unlikely that all of these things will eventually happen that is true yes but yeah so I don't know what it is all about how you interpreted and it's a it's interesting to think about but I guess we we probably don't necessarily believe that this law is an absolute truth send me your thoughts on this Murphy's Law what do you think
