An important part of the process of pursuing leads is having a system for tracking them. If an architect is working alone to track a few leads, the system can be fairly simple—a notebook or a simple spreadsheet. But if the information needs to be shared with others within an organization, the firm may want to invest in a more robust leadtracking database system. Generally, there’s far more to be gained by sharing, as colleagues can help if they know someone related to the project. There is no one-size-fits-all system for tracking leads in the architecture business, however. Each firm has to find the system that works best.
