Systemic methotrexate
therapy reportedly is less effective in removing
the ectopic pregnancy leaving a greater risk of tubal rupture, and additionally methotrexate
therapy has a more negative impact on ectopic
pregnancy patients’ quality of life compared
with laparoscopic salpingostomy (Nieuwkerk
et al., 1998; Sowter, Farquhar, Petrie, & Gudex,
2001).
