Finally, an issue that is being increasingly mentioned relates to the "near sourcing " whereby a number of firms are reported to be relocating closer to home markets given production cost increases in China.
Some observers argue, however, that near sourcing affects limited areas of business and is therefore overrated (Lloyd's List, 2013c).
In addition, it was observed that there was more than one factor to take into account when making decision about where to locate production and that there was no one-size-fits-all solution, as in some cases - depending on the product - near sourcing can generate significant savings while in others it could prove to be expensive (Lloyd's List, 2013c).
