A subset of nine sherds from multiple sites on Corom contain a spectrum of
related quartzose (KATA [Kataloka site], on-8, on-10,(ondor 2 site})
calcareous (DU-3 [Dulak site], 0 -5), and hybrid quartzose-calcareous(du
4,0 DO [Ondor 1 site], ON-2, 0 -4) tempers with terrigenous fractions
similar to the temper in a presumably indigenous sherd from Serarn. and are
probably indigenous Gorom beach sands derived from exposure of melange
on Cororn, although ceramic transfer from Seram cannot be excluded on any
petrographic grounds.
