nanoceria inthesensordesignenablesoxidationofphenoliccompounds,particularlythosewithortho-
dihydroxybenzenefunctionality,totheircorrespondingquinonesatthesurfaceofascreenprinted
carbon electrode.Detectioniscarriedoutbyelectrochemicalreductionoftheresultingquinoneatalow
applied potentialof 0.1VvstheAg/AgClelectrode.Thesensorwasoptimizedandcharacterizedwith
respect toparticleloading,appliedpotential,responsetime,detectionlimit,linearconcentrationrange
and sensitivity.Themethodenabledrapiddetectionofcommonphenolicantioxidantsincludingcaffeic
acid, gallicacidandquercetininthe mM concentrationrange,anddemonstratedgoodfunctionalityfor
the analysisofantioxidantcontentinseveralwinesamples.Theintrinsicoxidase-likeactivityofnano-
ceria showspromiseasarobusttoolforsensitiveandcosteffectiveanalysisofantioxidantsusing
electrochemical detection.
