maintenance
was
critical
for
the
ships'
safety
and
legal
requirements. This ranged from galley equipment to engines, electrical systems, valves, and even
consumable items such as paint and chlorine. AMOS,

developed by Xantic Software Company, the
information system specifically designed for ship maintenance, was fully implemented at RCCL, but
there was significant work needed to standardize the parts database (the same item could have
different numbers from one ship to another).
