2.5. Characterization of oils
Oils were characterized in triplicate using the methodologies
described by AOCS (2013) for the moisture content (Ca 2e-84),
acidity (F9 b-44) index, peroxide (Ja 8–87) and iodine (Wijs
method) (Tg 1–64) values, saponification number (Cd 3b-76),
density (Ea 7–95) and refractive index at 40 °C (Tp 1a-64). The
total lipid content was determined using the method of Bligh and
Dyer (1959).
