Plot of Pinocchio In the Disney adaptation, the story is about a poor old man who made a wooden puppet, a puppet whose goal is to become a real boy. Pinocchio is given life by a blue fairy and the blue fairy hires a cricket whose name was Jimminy as Pinocchio's conscience. So every time Pinocchio does something, Jimminy must keep an eye on the puppet and tell him what's right and wrong. But Pinocchio ignores Jimminy sometimes... so he ends up in trouble. However Jimminy seems to rescue him and so does the blue fairy... but only once (when he was trapped in a cage). When Pinocchio lies, his nose grows long and the only way to shorten it in to tell the truth. After Pinocchio gets caught by evil people and runs away to safety, he returns home and tries to find his father, the old man who made Pinocchio. However, he realises that his father was eaten by a big whale and so goes to rescue him. They end up on a shore after they were coughed out by the whale. Pinocchio seems to have died rescuing his dad but the blue fairy restores him to life and changes him into a real boy.
