Monitoring and surveillance
-Medical monitoring
Requirements for medical monitoring
Under medical monitoring, workers exposed to certain occupational hazards must go for regular medical examinations.
What is medical monitoring
If your workers are exposed to occupational hazards, you are required to send them for specific medical examinations.
These medical examinations aren’t general checkups. They are specific tests for the type of hazard involved.
The tests allow early detection of occupational disease and ensure that workers remain fit for such work. They also help you gauge whether existing control measures are effective.
Relevant regulations: Workplace Safety and Health (Medical Examinations) Regulations
