In fact, Tteok-bokki is not just street food. It was served on the royal table during joseon times. It was call gungjung Tteok-bokki. It was not as spicy since beef, vegetables and soy sauce were added instead of red pepper paste. Its sweet soy sauce flavors taste quite like bulgogi(korean barbecue). Gungjung Tteok-bokki contained deluxe ingredients, too ,and it is still served at exclusive koren royal cuisine restaurant.
