The fact that, out of 100 travel agencies (registered for tourism activities only) that operate in Dubrovnik, only one offers creative tourism programmes, goes to support that claim. That single agency organizes a course on local embroidery, weaving, folk singing and dancing, fishing trips and expeditions. The limited number of creative tourism programmes that do exist are on offer by demand only and are mostly used by specialized groups of tourist i.e. politicians, scientists, cultural workers, conference participants etc. Individual tourists have very limited or no access to organized forms of ‘authentic’ experiences.
