Mr Algernon Yau was appointed as CEO of Dragonair in July 2014 and oversees all the commercial aspects and operations of airline.
Prior to taking up his current role, from July 2011 Mr Yau was Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Pacific Services Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways that operates the new Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. He was responsible for leading and overseeing the development and execution of the company’s long-term business strategy.
From 2008 to 2011, Mr Yau was General Manager HKIA overseeing Cathay Pacific’s ground operations at the airport.
Mr Yau started his aviation career with Cathay Pacific in 1982, working in a number of airport-related positions, and then joined Dragonair in 1994.
Mr Yau has extensive experience in the aviation industry and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong and a Fellow of the Society of Business Practitioners in the UK.
