Tell the kids to behave, dust off your party hats and head to Honeysuckle to celebrate the end of 2015. Newcastle's New Year's Eve celebrations feature entertainment for all ages including live music across four stages, roving entertainment throughout the precinct and circus workshops for the kids from 6pm. The celebration will wrap up with fireworks lighting up the night sky at the family friendly time of 9pm.
Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes says New Year's Eve festivities are part of our Summer in the City series and will be centred in the heart of the city's entertainment precinct at Honeysuckle which is well equipped for hosting major events.
"We are once again centring our entertainment in the Honeysuckle area which means there is plenty of space for people to enjoy the free entrainment and activities, there is plenty of parking as well as access to public transport. We are also helping to support our local businesses by increasing patronage to the area on the busiest night of the year."
"There will be four stages set up across the precinct catering for all ages and tastes in music. We have also organised children's circus workshops in Brake Block Park and roving bands and performers to entertain the crowds as they move through the area."
"Each stage has a different theme stage one features acoustic artists, stage two is a designated party zone with a DJ, stage three in the main restaurant precinct with have a duo and band and finally stage four in Harbour Square will have DJs with party hits."
"Just across Workshop Way Newcastle Museum will be open for a Jurassic themed New Year's Eve party from 6 to 9pm. There will be plenty of dinosaur themed activities and the interactive blockbuster Tyrannosaurs exhibition will be open to explore. Entry fees apply but it will be worth every cent!.
