Antimicrobial activity
The potential activity of the SA198 strain against various
microorganisms (bacteria, filamentous fungi and yeasts)wasevaluated
on ISP2 medium by the streak method. Plates were inoculated
with strain culture by a single streak and incubated at 30 ◦C for 10
days. Later, target microorganisms were seeded in streaks perpendicular
to the actinomycete strain (a single streak for each at 90◦
to actinomycete strain). The antimicrobial activity was evaluated
by measuring the distance of inhibition between target microorganisms
and actinomycete colony margins, after incubation at
30 ◦C for 24 h for bacteria and yeasts, and 36 h for filamentous
fungi.
