Bearing in mind the mesoscale SCAPE assumption that cliff top processes
are predominantly driven by feedback mechanisms between the
cliff toe and shore platform, the results of this study are most applicable
to simple cliff behavioural units which are driven by basal marine erosion
(Lee and Clark, 2002). SCAPE does not consider how variations in
material strength may influence sub-aerial processes, which have
been recognised to have an important effect on mass movement in a
range of field and modelling studies including Jenkins et al. (2011)
and Castedo et al. (2012, 2013), respectively
