Buggy:
In Buggy, we started out once again with the same engine that we ran at the Warm-Up Race. This also worked really good there. We used the 2114 pipe, #4 Glow Plug, and Maxima 25%.
We continued to use the Maxima fuel all through qualifying as this seemed to work good in the engine and was running well. Its still had a high idle sound, but ran good on the track and the mileage was close to 10:30. All through qualifying we had 0 issues with the Engine.
In the Semi, at the first pit stop the engine flamed out during the fill. The engine stopped running before the tank was all the way full. I could hear the engine starting to die as more fuel went in the tank. Luckily I always have a starter box ready and restarted very quickly. On the 2nd stop I once again tried to put with the fuel gun but the engine did the same exact thing and flamed out. For the last pit stop I just used a fuel bottle to fill and the engine barely stayed running. This would start Tebo 12th overall in the A-Main.
Thinking it was a fuel issue, we changed to Nitrotane 25% for the Main and used the Truggy Engine as it already had allot of Nitrotane 30% through it and worked perfectly.
As Tebo came in for his first fuel stop in the A-Main, his engine once again died while filling. His fuel tank took all the fuel so I was hoping it was just because he may have been out of fuel. I tried during the 2nd stop with the fuel gun again and another flame out in the pits. I was then forced to use a fuel bottle for the rest of his stops in the A-Main.
This is what we have came up with: If he ran the same Engine, Pressure Line, and Nitrotane Fuel in Truggy and all was OK during the 45-minute A-Main.
Then had the same exact issues with the Buggy Engine & Maxima Fuel as well as Truggy Engine & Nitrotane Fuel...it should be an issue with his Buggy tank.
This week he is going to run at his home track and try his car right off the track from the Nats. Then he will put in his old tank from his buggy from the Warm-Up and see if that is what it was. The very scary part of all of this is on the track all is ok, but once you try to fuel it, the issues start.
