Job Functions:
•Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
•Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
•Maintains the company general ledger, working in conjunction with the Finance department team members to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data.
•Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
•Reconciles financial discrepancies and prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information, trends and variances.
•Prepares various analysis reports, as assigned.
•Prepares financial reporting packages for external parties, as required.
•Performs the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual close.
•Prepares the company’s consolidated financial statements, sales and use tax, payroll and property tax returns.
•Works with the company’s tax accounting firm to assist in preparation of the company’s, and its affiliates’ income tax returns.
•Serves as the primary liaison with the company’s accounting and audit firms.
•Advises management on tax ramifications of business decisions.
•Assists management with financial planning efforts.
•Identify financial status, track expenses and revenues vs. budget and re-forecast and analyze fluctuations.
•Improve financial status by analyzing and interpreting data, monitoring variances, making comparative analyses, identifying trends, recommending actions to management.
•Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization, as needed.
•Increase productivity by developing automated financial models and analytical tools, using Microsoft Office applications.
•Assist with proposal pricing and perform ongoing and post bid market and competitor price analysis.
•Manages complex projects, as assigned.
•Must be willing to learn international accounting and tax laws and regulations, as required.
