Kaplan–Meier survival curves were created and the log-rank test performed to test the equality of survival by quartiles of BP. Cox proportional hazards regression was used to determine the significance and strength of association of factors associated with mortality outcomes. The proportionality assumption was tested both by evaluating the log minus log plot as well as by testing the Schoenfield residuals.
