The respondents were asked to rate their physical
exertion while performing milking and they reported
that the task involved weak to moderate physical exertion.
This implies that other work tasks such as manual
scraping of manure, handling of feed, strewing of
litter (sawdust or straw) and cleaning of the milking
parlour and equipment contribute to the high prevalence
of perceived MSD reported by the respondents
