In these infections with Acanthamoeba strains that in our investigation
showed a strong in vitro viability and a long survival time,
the presence of hyper reflective objects/cysts was revealed by noninvasive
in vivo confocal microscopy. Contrary to this, no cysts
were detected by this in vivo technique for infections with strains
indicating a relatively weak degree of in vitro dynamics in the log
growth phase.
