The greatabundance of microorganisms on the surfaces of historic
objects, frequently observed by the author, is evidence that
in particular periods of its existence the object could have
been colonized by various group of microorganisms, stimulated
by alternating periods of moist and dry conditions.
Situations occur however when, in spite of being under controlled
conditions of low moisture and low temperature historic,
objects are liable to enzymic decay.
