This is not always as easy as one might think.Aboutness is not an absolute concept. It is determined in the context of the information centre and its clients, and establishing aboutness is greatly influenced by the information professional’s experience, knowledge, opinions and judgment: consistency is hard to achieve. Derek Langridge devoted a whole book to the topic of subject analysis – that is the process of determining aboutness (Langridge 1989)
