The conceptual RAF model is a theoretical model that is devised from theory, ‘‘so that theories can impact upon practical decision-making’’ . In our analysis below, we therefore provide empirical examples of organizations operating in each quadrant in order to illustrate the applicability and potential use of the framework in practice. Although we use multiple examples, we refer to two famous cases, Enron Corporation and IBM, through-out our analysis, in order to demonstrate that the framework captures organizational transformation between various states over time.
