A secretary for the Tanyonglimo tambon administration organisation in Rangae district of Narathiwat province was wounded by a gunman near her office on Thursday morning, police said.
Pol Col Pakdee Preechachon said the attack occurred at about 9.15am on the road to the TAO office.According to witness accounts, Orasa Ngernmak, 40, was driving a car to her office and was followed by two men on a motorbike. Near the TAO office, the pillion rider fired three shots at her from a rifle, hitting her in the right shoulder and arm.
Despite her injuries, Ms Orasa continued to drive, going to a nearby ranger company's base on the same road and seeking help. The attackers fled. The rangers took her to Rangae Hospital
