Gardaí have located the car used during the robbery of a security van in Co Carlow yesterday.
The burnt-out vehicle was was found at the foot of Mount Leinster in Carlow in the early hours of this morning.
The two raiders remain at large following the incident, where a security van was held up at the entrance to the Aldi supermarket in Bagnelstown at around 3pm.
Gardaí say two masked men - one of whom was armed with a firearm - threatened a security guard and stole a cash box containing a substantial amount of money.
They escaped in the black BMW coupe. The cash box and its contents were discovered on the Old Carlow Road in Bagnelstown.
The box had exploded, destroying the contents with red dye.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
