4. Conclusions
The characteristics of the CH4 and N2O emissions were analyzed in the Jungryang WWTP, South Korea. The sludge thickener produced the highest CH4 emission, and the aeration basin had the highest N2O emissions, excluding the sludge digestion tank. The N2O emission factor of the sludge digestion tank was lower than that of CH4, which is used as recyclable energy and deducted from total GHG emissions. Each emission factor for each processing unit was significant for calculating total CH4 and N2O emissions.
