HPLC analysis
The analysis was performed with an Agilent 1100 HPLC
system (Agilent, USA). The analytical HPLC column was an
Agilent XDB-C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm; particle size,
5 μm). An isocratic mode was used and the mobile phase was
methanol-ethanol (40:60, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min.
The injection volume was 20 μL and the UV wavelength was set
at 210 nm. The column temperature was maintained at 30oC
during analysis. The concentration of solanesol was calculated
using a calibration curve. The calibration curve was obtained
by HPLC and exhibited a perfect straight line (R=0.9996).
The regression equation was Y = 74.120X+39.643.
