The Creation of the Aerator
The technician staff of Machine Tool Improvement Section, Machinery Spare Parts Production Branch under the Royal Irrigation Departments Workshop Division, undertook a study and research to improve the performance of the Chaipattana Aerator Model RX- 5C by modifying its size to make it smaller and easier to install. The materials used for creating the aerator are the waste products left over from various works. According to the result of the efficiency testing during which the model was attached with a one-horsepower electric motor, it proved capable of adding air into water and performing satisfactorily, consistent with His Majestys Royal initiative. However, to reinforce its capacity, the electric motor was changed from one- horsepower to two-horsepower which generates a rotation of 3000 rounds per minute. It was also installed with a fiberglass buoy. The experimentation proved that the aerator was efficient in improving the water quality.
