The study was conducted from the point of view of a vendor of computerised maintenance management information systems.
Even though statistical methods were applied to analyse our data,
however, the research objective was to gain some insight into how
users perceive or accept the CMMS post-implementation. Thus, in
order to measure user perceptions and hence provide an indication
of the level of technology acceptance, a questionnaire was devised
to assess each of the basic functionalities of a typical CMMS as
depicted in Fig. 3. The majority of the questions were close-ended
statements using the Likert five-point scale, where a value of 1
means that the respondent strongly agrees with a positive state-
ment, and a value of 5 means that the respondent strongly dis-
agrees with the positive statement. The user perception questions
were derived using the matrix also shown in Fig. 3.
